My Poor Little Zy

As many of you know, Zion has been quite sick on and off for a while. She has recurring fevers and lethargy that resurface every 6 weeks. We are still trying to figure out what's going on with her, and the doctors seem to be just as confused as we are. It seems she has an "inflamatory disease" which could mean about a million different things. So, we have been doing test after test to figure out what it is. Still no answers, but tomorrow we're going in for another round. This image of her on the couch is how she was for about 8 days. Yesterday she ate for the first time in 8 days and she seemed to have a lot of energy in the morning, so Grandpa took Nikoli, Elijah and her to play at McDonalds. She had lots of fun with her brothers and ate all her food. That was so good to see. She was pretty wiped out when she got home and took a 6 hour nap, but is still improving. Today she wanted to go to church so we got ready and she lasted through the first hour of sacrament meeting, but then was ready to go home. Poor little thing. This is the longest episode she has had. It's nice to see her off the couch and out of bed.

Hmmm?

Here is what Nikoli found in the microwave when Zion decided to cook her own hot dog . . .

I hope you have all had an amazing Christmas and New Year! We did! Nothing like Christmas with little ones running around. They loved every second of the whole season.

I have to mention what my little Zion did. She is such a stinker! I had just stepped out of the shower and could smell smoke so I whipped the door open and looked down the hall to see that my kitchen was filled with smoke! When I yelled to Steve that something was burning, he informed me that Zion had tried to cook a hot dog in the microwave. He was in our bedroom with the door shut, so he didn't realize it until Nikoli went into our room and said, "DAD! Someone put a piece of POOP in the microwave!" Thankfully it wasn't poop, but it did look like it! That poor hot dog was shriveled to about 3 inches long and completely black! Nikoli said Zion had the time set for "like, an hour!" I don't know how long it was actually there, but it was well done for sure. Our microwave still smells like smoke when we use it.

It's official! I'm now the primary president for my ward. How do you say anxiety? Not really. I am actually looking forward to it. Zion just entered the sunbeam class and Nikoli will be getting baptized this year. It will be fun to be in primary with my kids. I know the ladies that I'm working with will be awesome and full of great ideas and hard work.

I am really grateful for opportunities like these. I love getting to know the ladies I work with. I learn a LOT from my sisters and friends who share the same experiences in motherhood. I really feel like being a mom is the most important calling a woman can have! I mean, it's definitely not a job you want to suck at, right?! I just feel like I have really great friends in that they go far beyond the call of duty. Not necessarily that they have their kids involved in every extra-curricular activity or community team and lessons for 20 different musical instruments each, but TRULY amazing mothers who spend time teaching, loving, ENJOYING their kids. I really mean that, so thanks, Jackie H., Mom, Linda J., Monica M., Kim D., Jeanne M., Marie G., Marie O., Kellie W., Summer W., Shannon B., Shanna T., Julie H., Tara T., Viki B., Mel H., Sherri M., Tauni R., Lisa K., Shae B., Lori A., Lori L., Sunny M., Jana J., you are all amazing. I really wish I had more time to write more stuff. But I really have to go now.

Buh-bye!
